A folder is a Collection object with itemsType: "Collection". It organizes collections rather than storing data rows. Use the same endpoint as creating a collection.

Replace workspace_example with the workspace ID in the request URL. parents must contain exactly one path:

  • /<workspace_id> creates a folder at the workspace root.
  • /<workspace_id>/<folder_id> creates it inside an existing folder in that workspace.

The parent folder must have itemsType: "Collection"; a regular data collection cannot be a parent. Use the immediate parent only, not the complete ancestry or an API URL. The icon is optional.

On success, the API returns 201 Created, the new folder's ID, and a Location header. Save the returned @id to create a collection inside this folder. The sample response shows only the created ID.

You can list, retrieve, and rename folders through the collection endpoints. See the Collection object for other fields.
